Both sports are very similar in rules and looks from the outside. Belegarth is generally a little more intense in combat. Dagorhir believes in a higher level of role play.
Belegarth succeeded from Dagorhir. the split started in 2000 and was made official in 2001. Why? Well its turned into a blame game. Dag says the founders of Bel. were trying to take over Dag. Bel says the leaders of Dag were tyrants. Rivalries and lack of communication.

No rock weight max ---Bean bag rocks here I come! jk
A shield must be < (wielder's height - 18") and must be rigid (ie pass the 'taco rule' --- This makes me wonder how flexible my back shield is.. Dag has no restrictions.
Dag says
"A shot striking baggy garb, a worn weapon, etc. with "Noticeable" force is a valid strike. Fighters may not call garb." I know this aint right. Garb hits don't count.
Healing poems to recover from injuries -- I know this is in the rules, but I also know that it wouldn't be allowed (minus some story battle) Anyone asking would be told no to this request during an event.

Yeah but in the rules it states that the 'poem has to be a certain number of syllables and approved by a Herold.
Its not important, no one uses the idea that I know of.

4.10.2 - If a blow strikes a sheathed weapon (i.e., one that is attached/hanging from one's belt or over one's back) or any other worn object, including baggy clothing such as cloaks, the attack is considered to have hit the fighter. A weapon must be in a fighter's hand to intercept an attack.
This is the 2009 Dag rules

I understood that part scythe. it was what preceeded it
"A shot striking baggy garb"
if it only hits garb, then it doesnt count.

I copied that out of the Manual of Arms. All I wrote was that it was out of the 2009 Dag rules. Literally, read (4.10.2) in the manual of arms.

Its better read as- "Any shot that passes THROUGH Baggy garb" I'm an extreamly honorable fighter... If you hit my pants and my pants only... I'm not taking it.
