Got this from the Mittelmarch boards. mittelmarch.proboards.com/index.cgi?Figured it would help you new guys with your stab tips. Ensolite is a technical name for the common "Marine Foam". I've found a good source is Therma-Seat hunting cushions. Up in the Anderson / Muncie area, Dunhams have them during the seasons. Their camo and look like pieces of toast, ~ $7 a seat but you get a ton of blue stabbies outta 1 seat.

Hunting season's are approaching again, thus sporting good stores are stocking the "ensolite" seats again. So ya watch'em, and they'll go on sale soon after season closes too!
Just make sure you get the 3/4" variety. They have 1 1/2" pads that are just flat out over kill - unless you're making a lotta reds. Double layers of 3/4" is usually called for in red use, do to the increased force imparted by larger, heavier weapons....used in a different manner.
Be forewarned: It's a flat out bitch to make a marine foam stabby spear. I tried, have failed so far. Good ol' blue foam and poof seems to be the bullet-proof design so far, as spears go anyway.
